The next morning, we all piled on the bus, and started to head out to Aria Force, preserved by the National Trust. Saturday we went to an old coal-mine. We climbed around a waterfall- which, was actually really dangerous- and had Romney’s Kendal mint cakes: a kind of peppermint patty type candy that is exclusive to the Lake District. Sunday we went to Devonshire to see Chatsworth: also known as Mr. Darcy’s house. (Chatsworth was used in the version of Pride & Prejudice with Kiara Knightly.) Interestingly, there happened to be a Ferrari convention going on that day. Vroom… We walked around the gardens, had the best ice cream i’ve ever tasted- including Coldstone- and got lost in a labyrinth. Professor Farmer heard our voices when we’d finally made it to the centre. He started a game of Marco-Polo, and it turned into a game of “call out a name of a mythological Greek god, and I’ll respond with it’s Roman name.” haha It was a nice weekend.
